The area is a cycling and walking paradise all starting from our front door and our facilities at the Lodge help make it easy for you, with bike work shop, drying room and secure bike storage, we have over 40 bike routes for you to choose from from flat riverside paths, gravel epics or mtbs rides and everything in-between. All rides have great views guaranteed! ( Maps , instructions/short cuts and gpx tracks provided), guests were missing the best rides so we help make it easy for them!
The area also has two mountain bike centres one in Innerleithen and one at Glentress Forest (6km away) which is holding the XC World Cup in early August. Come and see where the rainbow jerseys were won. Bike hire and Ebike hire available locally.
We often forget Edinburgh is just up the road and ideally placed for day trips by public transport, as is the Golden beach Coast to the east and even more castles to explore. The Edinburgh fringe is on in August, the iconic Tour of the Borders road Sportif on 3rd Sept. So extend your stay. This area is not as far away as you think!
