Ashbourne Gateway Centre clay model

I like the tremendous detailing on this model of a unique building, with steps at the front and towers either side. A group of 12 or more can arrange to stay in this historic building on the lower ground floor at the Gateway Centre in self-catering accommodation.

The clay town exhibit is on show in Ashbourne town hall: Monday to Saturday 10am till 3pm, Closed: Thursday & Sunday. Free entry.
The building itself was built in 1880. A railway station opened on the other side of the road in 1899, but has now been replaced by a leisure centre and swimming pool. What was the railway line is now part of the National Cycle Network and takes people by cycle or on foot into the Peak District National Park.
