…a full range of thrilling and adventurous activities…perfect for stag and hen weekends
A tiny, icing sugar sprinkle of snow dusts the Derbyshire HQ of Independent Hostels and hands are wrung, teeth whistled over and brows are knitted. Meanwhile, over in The Cairngorms National Park, the good people of Ardenbeg Bunkhouse jump for joy and rub their hands in glee as the snow falls.
Ardenbeg Bunkhouse is part of the Craggen Outdoors group and is one of their bases from which they run a dizzying range of outdoor activity. It has rooms off four, five, six & eight bunks; along with two open plan kitchen / dining / common rooms; and a large private garden with BBQ, picnic tables & a children’s play area. Its a lovely bright house in Granttown-on-Spey right by the river, with the towering massif of The Cairngorms always in sight. Elgin, Aviemore and Inverness are within driving distance – but why would you want towns when the landscape looks like this?
A quick browse of their website shows you the full range of thrilling and adventurous activities they can run for groups of all sizes. Gorge walking and kayaking, I recognise, but Disc golf? Lazer clays? I don’t know what they are but I fancy a go! Dig a little deeper onto their social media and you’ll see what I mean when I say the snow doesn’t put the off at all. There are pictures of groups skiing the slopes; tug-of-war-ing in the snow; or paddling a scenic lake with the white slopes of a mountain not-too-distant behind.
The social media is also a goldmine of recommendations:
“Fantastic experience with the Craggan Outdoor Centre this week…. loved all the activities.”
“It was an amazing day and great experience.”
“Definitely recommend, would go back. Thank you guys for an amazing day, lovely chat and experience.”
Family groups; stags and hens; scouts and schools; all groups are welcome and should consider Ardenbeg Bunkhouses.
