Situated 300m up Blencathra in the Lake District, and with panoramic views of the Lake District Fells, the Field Studies Councils Blencathra centre is the perfect setting for safe, environmental education and activities. The centre runs mainly off renewable energy and can sleep up to 173 across 4 buildings. The centre is flexible, allowing you to run your own Lake District trip, or have expert tutors help your group learn about Environmental Conservation, Hill Walking, Nature, Orienteering, Meteorology and many more. Bedding is provided and the centre can cater for all dietary requirements or provide self-catered accommodation. Waterproofs and wellies can be provided for outdoor activities, and every Field Studies Council centre has been awarded the Quality Badge by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom. Uniquely, this centre also has 7 smaller cottages on site, able to accommodate smaller groups, which can be hired separately from the main centre.
