With beds still available for most August days, Campbeltown Backpackers, on the Kintyre Peninsular on the west coast of Scotland, deserves to be on your ‘places to stay this summer’ list. Renowned for its Whisky distilleries; (Springbank, Kilkerran and Glen Scotia), a tour and a tasting is definitely a ‘must’. The area also has stunning beaches, great walking and cycling routes. Gather a group of like minded souls, bring your camping equipment and hunker down in this delightful stone barn situated in the middle of a field away from neighbours. There’s a wood burning stove to keep you warm, a food prep area with kitchen units & washing up sink as well as an internal WC and hand basin. With wonderful walks on the doorstep and a pub you can walk to, you are guaranteed a night or two to remember.
