OverviewWayfarers Independent Hostel is situated close to Penrith town centre, providing excellent value accommodation to those visiting Penrith, the Eden Valley and the North Lakes. Penrith is on the edge of the Lake District National Park, close to the M6 and on the West Coast Mainline with shops, pubs, restaurants and a cinema all within 5 minutes' walk of the hostel. The C2C cycle route passes 100m from the doorstep. Secure indoor bike storage, a drying room, bike cleaning and maintenance facilities make this an ideal place to stay. Cycle hire is also available. Newly refurbished in a comfortable, modern style, facilities include a lounge, full kitchen and dining area and an outside seating area for guests to enjoy. All bedrooms are en suite with made up beds (sheets & duvets), lockers, bedside lights and have free WiFi. Towels available for hire. Individuals, small parties and groups of up to 18 are welcome.

Directions:M6 jcn 40 into Penrith along Ullswater Road. Past the station, bear left at first roundabout, straight over second heading down the hill past Booths and Morrisons. At bottom of the hill follow round to the left and take first turning on left.

Another beautiful day here in Cumbria. A perfect opportunity to sit out, soak up the rays… and admire our brand new sign.
While it finally looks like the weather is here to stay we’re having a great time welcoming you all back to our hostel. The lockdown makeover has been a resounding success and it’s wonderful to see all you cyclists, ramblers and all round adventure seekers enjoying your stay with us. Penrith is looking absolutely wonderful right now, and don’t worry it’s not too hot to cycle. Wayfarers is good to go and looking better than ever after it’s lockdown makeover!
All bedrooms are still private en-suites for your family/group and the kitchen and lounge are now fully open.
Wayfarers is a cosy, boutique hostel with en-suite facilities for each bedroom, well equipped kitchen, snug lounge, bike storage with maintenance bay and drying room.
We’re based on the edge of the Lake District National Park in the lovely town of Penrith. We have everything close by for the perfect holiday or outdoor adventure; Ullswater Lake is only 5 miles away, the coast2coast cycle route only 50 meters away, castles to explore, and many, many beautiful fell walks for all abilities. Within Penrith is a vintage style cinema, boutique shops, a local wine maker, brilliant junk yard, fantastic pubs, restaurants and cafes.
