Wayfarers Independent Hostel – Covid 19 Update
March 22nd 2020
Dear guests and future guests,
Relating to the current COVID-19 situation, we have decided that we must temporarily close based upon advice from the government, local police and Cumbria Tourism.
This is to support non-essential travel advice and social distancing. We feel that temporarily closing is the best way to ensure our guests, community, and the Lake District stay safe.
We’ll be back and we aim to reopen as soon as is possible. We will reassess week by week, but will be guided by the government’s advice.
We have contacted everyone who has booked with us up to 30th April to organise full refunds or to defer bookings to a later date.
If you have booked with us from 1st May onwards and would like to cancel or change the dates of your booking, please contact us or we will be in touch closer to the time.
If you booked through booking.com, hostelworld.com, expedia.co.uk, or through another third party, you will need to make changes or cancellations on your account with them.
If you booked through our website or by phone then you’ll be able to cancel and re-arrange dates by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org or you can give us a call on 01768 866 011.
This is an unfortunate situation and a challenging time for all of us. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Take care and we look forwarding to welcoming you in the future!

We’d like to reassure all of our guests that thorough cleaning practises have always been a priority here at Wayfarers. In light of current events we are taking extra measures.
Deep cleans have always been done after every guest and common areas are disinfected daily, however we will also be providing extra disinfectant wipes and sprays in the kitchen and every bathroom for guest use.
We have no plans to close our doors! Single beds, twin rooms, dorm rooms, family rooms and sole use of Wayfarers is available for groups, families and individuals. There is a well equipped kitchen, cosy lounge, bike storage and a drying room onsite. We have fantastic access to the lakes, bike trails and walking paths.
