OverviewThe Vagabond is an independent bunkhouse/hostel, situated in the centre of the village of Betws y Coed, within the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. Created and designed for individuals, families or groups, this unique bunkhouse is extremely well equipped, sleeping a total of 36 in spacious comfortable rooms of 4, 6, and 8, all with clean fresh linen, duvets and personal reading lamps. Self catering facilities with complimentary tea and coffee in a large well equipped kitchen. Seriously hot showers, freshly cooked food for individuals or groups who do not wish to prepare their own and a great bar for entertainment. Free WiFi, outdoor climbing wall, power wash for mountain bikes, heated individual secure dog kennels and a host of other fantastic facilities makes this the perfect base camp for climbers, walkers, mountain bikers, paddlers and adventure seekers. Stay here and explore and appreciate this area of outstanding recreation and beauty.

Directions:The hostel is situated on Ffordd Craiglan which is a lane that runs off the A5 about 300 yards from the village centre. Hostel is 40 yards up Craiglan.
Public Transport:Betws-y-Coed Station is 50 yards from the hostel. Buses stop on the A5 (London to Holyhead road) within easy walking distance.

This very well appointed bunkhouse has ready made up beds, free hot drinks and seriously hot showers. There is a Pizza restaurant on site (notice required). Outside there’s a climbing wall, a power wash & heated dog kennels!

The 2019 Snowdonia Challenge takes place in Betws-y-Coed from 28 -30 June 2019. This 3 day walking event covering 100km is not for the faint hearted. Vagabond Bunkhouse in Betws-y-Coed is your ideal low cost, friendly accommodation.
Snowdonia Challenge is a test of mental and physical resilience and team work and will take you on a journey of self discovery. It is inspired by multi-day challenges used as military training events in Europe.The first Snowdonia Challenge was held in Betws-y-Coed, North Wales in 2017. The perfect base to explore some of the less visited parts of Snowdonia with some of the best views the national park has to offer.This is not just about challenge and adventure though.
Come on your own or come as a team; taking part in the Snowdonia Challenge you will be part of an amazing 3 days where you will make new friends and explore parts of Snowdonia you’ve never been before.
Full event – 3 day walking event – 100km over 3 days. Or if you’d like to be a part of it but can’t commit to the full 3 days then just walk for for 1 or 2 days.
