The Ceilidh Place Bunkhouse, 14 West Argyle St. Ullapool, IV26 2TY

The Ceilidh Place is a small complex, consisting of a music venue/performance space, restaurant, hotel, bar, bookshop, coffee room, gallery and bunkhouse. There are regular ceilidhs and concerts (sometimes jazzy/classical) at the Ceilidh Place with visits from folk musicians and small touring theatre companies occuring regularly. The bunkhouse (group only) does not have self-catering facilities but the coffee shop is open from 8.30am to late evening, 7 days a week. It serves hot food, soups, salads, great coffee and cakes and is a super place to relax, read and write cards or memoirs. Rooms for individuals are also available in the hotel where there is a social living room area and balcony. The village of Ullapool is a small exciting port and fishing town, with ferries from the Outer Hebrides. The Ceilidh Place is in the centre of Ullapool. It is also next to the campsite. The bunkhouse is much favoured by hill walkers and families as an ideal base for touring.

This accommodation is featured on our map of West coast of Scotland, Skye and the Hebrides and here is its own website.

News & Offers

The Centre of the Universe, they say.

The Centre of the Universe, they say.

Bookshop, arts venue, cafe-bar. Much more than a hostel.

The Ceilidh Place in Ullapool say they are “At the end of the A835 and at the centre of the universe.” They might just be right! An amazing scenic journey along a road that could qualify as one Iain Banks’ “Great Wee Roads” delivers you to a hostel that is much more than a hostel. Combining arts venue, bookshop and cafe-bar, the Ceilidh Place lives up to its name as a lively music and social hub. Have a glance at their website, www.theceilidhplace.com, and you’ll see the plethora of upcoming concerts hosted right here. Which doesn’t even touch on the Ullapool Book Festival, or the range of fine whiskies, or the charming fishing village, or the epic scenery. I’ll bet you’re writing a booking email right now.
