Overview
FSC Slapton Ley is a Field Studies Council centre set in the South Devon ANOB and close to Dartmoor National Park. The spacious, well-appointed centre has been awarded 4* by Visit England. The accommodation is in 4 blocks sleeping 75, 33, 17 and 17. Large groups can book by the block or the whole site otherwise there are single, twin and family rooms and small dormitories, mostly en suite. Outside there are beautiful landscaped grounds with seating areas, shelters and a wildlife area. All types of bookings are welcome including singles, couples, groups of adults, families and extended family groups. Due to Covid-19, rooms are currently offered on a B&B basis at very reasonable rates. The centre is situated next to a 210 hectare national nature reserve that includes the 4km long Slapton Sands beach and the largest freshwater lake in the South West. Slapton village with it's community shop and 2 pubs are just a short walk away. For walkers and cyclists both the South West Coast Path and NCN 28 run close by. The nearest train station is Totes (13 miles). On the South West Main Line it is less than 3 hours direct from Birmingham New Street and London Paddington. Pick ups can be arranged. The no 3 Stagecoach bus from Plymouth or Dartmouth to Slapton stops outside the centre. For the more energetic the centre is on the South West Coastal Path and NCN route 28.Walks:
