FSC Slapton Ley is a Field Studies Council centre set in the South Devon ANOB and close to Dartmoor National Park. The spacious, well appointed centre has been awarded 4* by Visit England and can sleep groups of between 15 and 145. The accommodation is in 4 blocks sleeping 75, 33, 17 and 17. Groups can book by the block or the whole site. There are single, twin and family rooms and small dormitories, mostly en suite. Facilities include a large dining room, several comfortable sitting rooms, two games rooms and a number of classrooms. Outside there are beautiful landscaped grounds with seating areas, shelters, a kitchen garden and a wildlife area. FSC Slapton Ley is ideally suited to schools, clubs and groups of friends and families. Self catering or catered packages are available. A wide range of outdoor activities are available on and off-site and the centre is situated next to a 210 hectare national nature reserve that includes the 4km long Slapton Sands beach and the largest freshwater lake in the South West. Slapton village with it's community shop and 2 pubs is just a short walk away. For walkers and cyclists both the South West Coast Path and NCN 28 run close by.

  • Directions:

    20 miles from the A38. As part of the FSC's environmental commitment all visitors are encouraged to travel by coach or train In line with this the FSC has developed links with First Travel Solutions to help reduce the cost of transport to the Centre.
  • Public Transport:

    The nearest train station is Totes (13 miles). On the South West Main Line it is less than 3 hours direct from Birmingham New Street and London Paddington. Pick ups can be arranged. The no 3 Stagecoach bus from Plymouth or Dartmouth to Slapton stops outside the centre. For the more energetic the centre is on the South West Coastal Path and NCN route 28.
