Rattray Head, your Scottish adventure.

One of the driest, sunniest areas of Scotland and not affected by the Scottish midge

Rattray Head Eco Hostel is set on the 100ft high dunes of an eleven miles long sandy beach on the north east coast of Aberdeenshire.  There is a summer seal colony and a huge variety of birdlife.  The hostel and self catering apartments are in the sturdy granite lighthouse keepers house.  Kept toasty warm by an eco boiler, with a log burner for extra cosy evening.  The generally good weather makes this one of the driest, sunniest areas of Scotland and it is fortunately not to be affected by the dreaded Scottish midge.  There is peace here and wide expanses for walking and exercising your dog. The gentle countryside is ideal for cycling, walking, bird watching, or romantic weekends.
