OverviewFSC Preston Montford is a Field Studies Council centre set on a 12 hectare estate in the heart of Shropshire on the banks of the River Severn with views into Wales. The centre has 131 beds across 3 blocks. All types of bookings are welcome including singles, couples, groups of adults, families and extended family groups. Outside there are picnic tables, an outdoor shelter, orienteering courses, a small 5-a-side football area and a sensory garden. The River Severn runs through the estate which is managed to provide a rich range of habitats. The centre is fantastically accessible from the motorway network and is close to the Long Mynd and Stiperstones in the South Shropshire Hill AONB, Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, Ludlow and Snowdonia. Due to Covid-19, rooms are currently offered on a B&B basis at very reasonable rates. Self-catering is possible for sole use bookings. The centre has received the ‘Good to Go’ mark in recognition of following government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, ensuring processes are in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social/physical distancing.

Directions:Preston Montford is 6 miles west of Shrewsbury. From the A5, take the roundabout exit signposted to Mid-Wales and Welshpool (A458). One mile along this road, turn right onto B4473, Preston Montford is located on the left after approx ½ mile.
Public Transport:The nearest train station is Shrewsbury. A pick up is available by prior arrangement.
