OverviewProviding very basic accommodation in a gated wooded valley with views across Bideford Bay towards Lundy Peppercombe Bothy is effectively a stone tent. The perfect spot to stop for a night or two if walking the South West Coast Path which passes through the valley, just 200 metres away. Alternatively if you enjoy the simple things and happily forgo the trappings of modern life for the right setting you will love to stay here. You share the tranquil valley, which is a haven for wildlife, with a handful of neighbours. A meandering path takes you down to secluded Peppercombe beach. It is the perfect spot for rock pooling, fishing and at low tide boasts an expanse of sandy beach. Just along the coast is Clovelly, a famous old fishing village with a steep cobbled high street leading down to the harbour and Westward Ho! with a large sandy beach and excellent water sports. Pack as if going camping but leave your tent at home. The Bothy is basic, there is no heating, light or cooking facilities in the bothy. So make suree you bring warm sleeping bags and mats as well as cooking and eating equipment. Dog owners should be aware that there is no enclosed garden at the bothy.
