8 Hill Adventure with New Ing Lodge
April 10th 2018
Our outdoorsy team from New Ing Lodge had a wonderful time out in the Lake District
We are back in the swing of things and with the first successful week of the new bed & breakfast season behind us, we decided to celebrate the only way we know how: by heading to the hills! We were planning to do a big day in the Lake District but didn’t quite realise how big it was going to be until we’re up there climbing hills.
We are used to getting up early so that we can offer 7 am breakfast option to our guests throughout the week. We like to get out early when heading to the hills so that we can make the most of the day and want to offer our guests the same possibility. So at 7 am on Saturday morning we set off from Shap and at 8.05 am we started our walk in Seathwaite in Borrowdale. Continue reading about our big mountain day including Great Gable and Scafell Pike HERE.
We still have availability for summer months! Why not come and get a taste of great hills days with us! You can check availability and book online HERE. See you in Shap or on the hills!
Summer getaways in Cumbria
March 15th 2018
Summer getaways the in quiet part of the Lake District
Without a doubt, the weeks of summer holidays are the most anticipated time of the year by grown ups and children alike. While everyone is looking forward to some time off, we are excited to have loads of people coming through our door with their stories and laughter and we can’t wait to be part of their summer adventures.
The time for planning your summer holidays is now. Cumbria is always bustling in July and August with holiday makers who come here for all sorts of reasons. There are certainly plenty of options for things to do and things to see in the Lake District! The newly achieved World Heritage status will bring many a curious visitor to the area. With any luck, the snow from this cold winter will have melted by then as well!
If the crowds and busy country roads are not what you are looking for on your precious days off but the fells and the lakes are what tickle your fancy then New Ing Lodge could be a perfect base for you. We are located just outside the border of the national park but conveniently just a few minutes off J39 of the M6. There are plenty to see and do here but there are much fewer people around and you can truly experience the wilderness and authenticity of the area. Read more here!
