Overview
FSC Nettlecombe Court is a Field Studies Council centre located in a secluded magical valley on the eastern edge of Exmoor National Park. It offers the unique opportunity to stay in a striking example of a Tudor and Georgian country mansion set within extensive private grounds including heritage parkland and ancient woodland. It sleeps up to 120 across spacious dorms, twin and single rooms, many en suite. All types of bookings are welcome including singles, couples, groups of adults, families and extended family groups. Due to Covid 19 rooms are currently offered on a B&B basis at very reasonable rates. Self-catering is only possible if you book the whole centre. FSC Nettlecombe Court offers excellent access to the Somerset coast, Exmoor National Park (a Dark Skies area) and The Quantocks AONB. From the M5: Follow the A358 (from Taunton) or the A39 (from Bridgewater) to Williton and then the A39 towards Minehead. After approx. 1 mile at Washford Cross roundabout (beside the radio masts/Tropiquaria) take the 1st exit onto the B3190 (signposted towards Wiveliscombe/Monksilver). After approx. ¾ mile turn left onto the B3188 (signposted Wiveliscombe/Monksilver/ Combe Sydenham). Follow the B3188 into the hamlet of Woodford (approximately 1 mile) and turn right onto Nettlecombe Park Road. After a short while there is a turning to the right signposted to FSC Nettlecombe Court. From Minehead: follow the A39 towards Williton. At Washford Cross roundabout (beside the radio masts /Tropiquaria) take the 3rd exit onto the B3190 and follow the directions above. COACHES – Please note that it is not advisable to approach the centre on the B3188 from the south as directed by Sat Nav (via Monksilver/Elworthy)Public Transport:
The nearest station is Taunton (15 miles). There are regular buses from the station to Williton, but you will need to get a taxi for the final section to the centre.Walks:
