OverviewFSC Millport is a Field Studies Council centre on the tiny Isle of Cumbrae off the west coast of Scotland. Right on the edge of the sea with breathtaking views across the Firth of Clyde to the mainland and other islands, you will get a real taste of island life. However, it is surprisingly accessible, just 1.5 hours from Glasgow including a 10 minute ferry journey from Largs. The centre sleeps 139 across 64 en suite rooms in two separate buildings. The centre is ideal for schools, universities, clubs and corporate groups with a range of break-out rooms, meeting rooms, classrooms and lots of communal space. Millport has its own Aquarium and Museum and can organise a wide variety of outdoor activities. It is equally suited to a family holiday or for groups of 10 or more to get together for an adventure, a reunion or a big celebration. You can book room only, B&B or full board. Self-catering is possible if you book the whole centre. Sorry but no stag or hen parties. The accommodation was completely refurbished in 2016 to a very high standard. It has great eco credentials with a biomass boiler, a green roof and sensor lights in all common areas.

Many guests choose to leave their car in Largs, either in the car park on the main promenade next to the ferry port (use postcode KA30 8LZ) or on one of the back roads near the ferry terminal. For those who choose to bring their cars or coaches over on the ferry; when you come onto the island turn left, and stay on the coast road (do not take the right turn directing you into Millport 400m from the ferry). Stay on this road for 3 km and the centre is the first set of buildings you will see as you come into a 30mph zone.
