Nestling at the foot of Blencathra in the Lake District yet easily reached by car, Lowside Farm Camping Barn and Pods are the ideal base for exploring this stunning part of the country. Just 6 miles to the bustling town of Keswick, 3 miles to the pretty village of Threkeld, with paths to the mountains from the doorstep you couldn't find a better location. Part of a solitary lakeland farmstead with fabulous views across the valley you will be immersed in the beauty of the Lake District. The accommodation is perfect for groups of walkers, cyclists, family gatherings and friends' reunions. Formerly a stone barn that has been converted to a very high standard, the camping barn sleeps 14. There's an upstairs open plan bunk room which sleeps 12 and a small 2 person bunk room downstairs. Set apart from the main farm and the camping pods you will enjoy your own space and privacy. There's a lovely large, well equipped kitchen/dining area looking out onto your private patio area and a large grassy field. Modern luxury shower rooms and a Freeview TV add to the overall feel of quality. In addition there are 6x4-berth luxury camping pods. These provide great additional accommodation for larger groups, for older family members and for those with small chilldren. All bed linen is provided. BYO towels. It would be hard to find a place more scenic than Lowside, Blencathra being right outside your door this hostel is ideal for anyone hoping to soak in the astounding atmosphere of the lakes. Miles upon miles of unspoiled terrain just waiting for you to enjoy it. After a long day of trekking or even climbing its reassuring to know that there is a pub nearby to reflect on the scenery and give you and your dog a well deserved rest. There is also the market town of Keswick, a holiday favorite of Beatrix Potter is just 6 miles away.
