OverviewYour Highland home away from home. Owners Patrick and Nikki and their team provide a warm welcome in all weathers, with free tea and coffee, a wood-burning stove, a well-stocked bar (50+ Scottish beers!), a large guest kitchen and lots of local information. The farmhouse dates back to the 18th century, but nowadays it retains its charm but has been modernized to ensure that you get a good night's sleep and a nice hot shower in the morning before you head out to explore the spectacular surroundings. Within easy walking distance of Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, pubs, restaurants and supermarket. A perfect location for activity or relaxation surrounded by spectacular scenery. Guided hikes, fishing, watersports and mountain biking can all be arranged locally. Inverness is just 20 mins by car or bus. On the Great Glen Way. BBQs, outside seating, drying area and garden all provided. Breakfast, packed lunches and laundry service are available. Dogs welcome in specific rooms (but please call in advance). Free parking. Bike storage available except in Jul/Aug.

Start or finish your Affric-Kintail walk or MTB ride at Loch Ness Bapckpackers Lodge

A warm cosy hostel, geared up for walkers and mountain bikers just a 10 minutes walk from the start of the route. You can leave your luggage at the hotel until you return.
With a supermarket, pubs and restaurants within walking distance and optional breakfast and packed lunches from Loch Ness Backpacker Lodge, you don’t have to worry about what you are going to eat. The Affric Kintail Way is a fully signposted, superb cross-country route for walkers and mountain bikers stretching almost 44 miles from Drumnadrochit on Loch Ness to Morvich in Kintail by Loch Duich. Given the proximity to the Great Glen Way (Inverness – Fort William) it is quite possible to extend your route to/from Drumnadrochit to Inverness and enjoy a spectacular coast to coast trek.

Loch Ness Backpackers is a great stop over on this iconic route. Warm and welcoming, within walking distance of a supermarket if you want to self-cater or pubs/restaurants if you don’t.
Breakfasts and packed lunches also available at the the hostel on request. Loch Ness and Urquart Castle are an easy walk away too if you have the energy. While free hot drinks, hot showers and a well stocked bar await you back at the hostel. What more could a walker ask for?
