Whether you’re visiting the heart of the Lake District alone or in a group, Lakes Hostel is your perfect base. There are 5 colourful, cosy and clean bedrooms that can cater for individuals, groups, couples and families. Book a private room, a bed in a shared room or hire the whole hostel. Some rooms have double beds and all have access to bathrooms with toilets and separate toilet facilities, no crossed legs in the corridor here! You are welcome to use the well-equipped modern kitchen, relax and make friends in the quirky lounge, kick off your muddy boots in the boot room and dry any soggy jackets in the drying area.

Just a 1-minute walk from Windermere train, bus and taxi station, you can count on a ‘reet Cumbrian’ welcome when you arrive! From the doorstep, you can take a boat trip on Windermere, enjoy a bracing hike up our majestic fells, adventure by bike through shaded woodlands or simply explore the independent shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants in the picturesque towns. Exploring more of the Lakes is as easy as pie, Windermere is a central transport hub and the starting point for the popular 555 bus route to Keswick.
