With fancy folded loo roll, under-the-sea themed loos and plenty more surprises along the way; Lakes Hostel is the bright and fun place to stay in the Lakes.

Explore nearby village of Bowness-on-Windemere; it has a busy pier which is the starting point for many lake cruises and ferries to Hawkshead. There’s also lots art galleries, antique stores and cafés – perfect for retail therapy in the run up to Christmas.
Visit Hill Top; Beatrix Potter’s 17th-century farmhouse. She bought the farmhouse in 1905 as a writing retreat and quickly fell in love with the area. Even visitors originally uninterested in Beatrix Potter will leave enchanted by her house and life. The house and gardens have been maintained the very same as they were in 1905. The house is bursting with Beatrice Potter artefacts and her gardens are as magical as they were over 100 years ago.
It wouldn’t be a holiday to Windemere without a cruise across the lake itself. With a few different length cruises to choose from, there is something for everyone, and, will be undeniable fun regardless of age, mobility or weather. The lake’s vast beauty will have the whole family awestruck.
