Kendal, once home to Wainwright, is a thriving town with culture, nature, history, shopping, eating and drinking on tap. From the 6th -9th August it is set to host it’s 5th walking festival. Surrounded by beautiful scenery it offers a wide variety of walking experiences. Kendal makes a superb base for those who enjoy walking and the festival has something for everyone regardless of his or her walking abilities. All walks are free in 2021.
Kendal Hostel provides ideal walkers accommodation at the centre of the festival.  Kendal Hostel, housed in a delightful large 4 story Georgian town house, sleeps up to 66 across 14 bedrooms. Guests coming down from the fells can enjoy private rooms, self catering with good company and lashings of hot water?  Or perhaps a pint of the local beer and a plate of your favourite food in the bustling market town just outside the door !
We stayed at KENDAL HOSTEL, which was perfectly positioned in the centre of town for all of our needs, not least a pre-dinner pint at any pub that took our fancy. It’s amazing what surprises are in hidden in the fabric of a town’s history, and Kendal is no different.
