OverviewA Georgian town house next to the Brewery Arts Centre just 300 yards from the centre of the historic market town of Kendal. This family run, friendly hostel is a home from home with a comfortable lounge, free WiFi, well equipped kitchen, dining room seating 26, central heating, hot showers, laundry facilities ,secure cycle shed, drying room and a good selection of books and maps to borrow for walking and cycling routes. Kendal is famous for Wainwright, Kendal Mintcake and Postman Pat. Hostel staff are always happy to pass on their local knowledge. Kendal has lots of offer visitors such as Kendal castle, museums, Abbot Hall Art Gallery and is only 1 stop from Oxenholme Rail station on West Coast Line. A short drive, bus or train ride will take you to Lake Windermere and Bowness for lake cruises and the famous Beatrix Potter exhibition. A great place to break a journey to and from Scotland as well as discovering this beautiful part of the country. Breakfast available on request. Whole hostel bookings taken. Here at Kendal Hostel we have 13 bedrooms (accommodating up to 67 guests) arranged over 4 floors. Our rooms range from 2 per room to 14 so can cater for all group sizes. These rooms include double rooms, family rooms and group rooms. As the hostel is fully self catering we have a large kitchen and dining room for guests to use.
The kitchen has everything you would find at home, ovens, hobs, microwave, kettle, fridges and so on. Our dining room is situated conveniently next to the kitchen which seats 26 guests at our rustic farm house tables. Our large communal lounge is perfect for relaxing in with our cosy log burner and comfy sofas as well as our free pool table and free unlimited Wi-Fi, ideal for guests who cant be without.
