Overview
A Georgian town house next to the Brewery Arts Centre just 300 yards from the centre of the historic market town of Kendal. This family run, friendly hostel is a home from home with a comfortable lounge, free WiFi, well equipped kitchen, dining room seating 26, central heating, hot showers, laundry facilities ,secure cycle shed, drying room and a good selection of books and maps to borrow for walking and cycling routes. Kendal is famous for Wainwright, Kendal Mintcake and Postman Pat. Hostel staff are always happy to pass on their local knowledge. Kendal has lots of offer visitors such as Kendal castle, museums, Abbot Hall Art Gallery and is only 1 stop from Oxenholme Rail station on West Coast Line. A short drive, bus or train ride will take you to Lake Windermere and Bowness for lake cruises and the famous Beatrix Potter exhibition. A great place to break a journey to and from Scotland as well as discovering this beautiful part of the country. Breakfast available on request. Whole hostel bookings taken. We stayed at KENDAL HOSTEL, which was perfectly positioned in the centre of town for all of our needs, not least a pre-dinner pint at any pub that took our fancy. It’s amazing what surprises are in hidden in the fabric of a town’s history, and Kendal is no different.

Many guests have been asking, do we need a car to see the Lakes, The short answer is no!
When you come on holiday, you come to relax so why would you want the worry of, “Will there be any parking spaces?” and “How do I buy a parking ticket?”. Why not leave your car at home and enjoy the ride by being chauffeured around the Lakes by bus. Up until 1st November 2020 Stagecoach will be operating their Summer timetable which runs buses from Kendal, Monday to Saturday, from 5.40am. So you can make the most of every minute in the Lakes. Unlimited travel tickets gives you the freedom to explore from £11.50 per day, £26.00 for 3 days and £30.00 for the whole week! Don’t forget that English concessionary pass holders travel FREE! The 555 bus runs from Lancaster to Kendal, Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere and Keswick all day long with no changes!

Is this the time to book a few days away with friends and family only 8 miles from Junction 36 of the M6 and a few minutes taxi ride from Oxenholme Lake District on the West Coast Mainline. We have 12 rooms over 3 floors, large lounge with free Pool Table, TV, DVD Log Burner and comfy sofas. Fully equipped kitchen and dining room which seats 26.
