Kendal: the historic gateway to the lakes

August 19th 2015

We stayed at KENDAL HOSTEL, which was perfectly positioned in the centre of town for all of our needs, not least a pre-dinner pint at any pub that took our fancy. It’s amazing what surprises are in hidden in the fabric of a town’s history, and Kendal is no different.

Kendal Hostel will be reopening on 4th July

June 23rd 2020

We will be limiting the opening times and capacity in our kitchen and dining room. All are rooms are being sold as private rooms, so no dorms beds for a while I’m afraid.

Kendal Hostel, a Georgian townhouse in the historic market town of Kendal, is next to the well known Brewery Arts Centre and only a stone’s throw from the town centre. Facilities include 13 bedrooms (all being let as private rooms for a while), kitchen, lounge, dining room, bike shed and free WiFi.

Life at Kendal Hostel

April 16th 2020

We are concentrating on things do before Boris gives us the whole clear to open.

Some hostels have no kitchen but we don’t want to go down that route as Kristina and I feel it’s the reason people use hostels to keep money down on self catering and the company. Maybe put kitchenette in rooms like they do elsewhere. I can see a research trip coming on
