OverviewThis converted Grade II listed stone farm building offers the perfect base for enjoying the Snowdonia National Park. In a rural setting on the 8,000 hectares Ysbyty Estate it has easy access to the A5 and is only six miles from Betws-y-Coed. The 400 year old building offers group accommodation with lots of character, substantial dining and social space and a large private car park. The large enclosed garden at the rear of the bunkhouse has picnic benches and a barbecue area. There is excellent access to outdoor activities in the surrounding area including walks from the door of the bunkhouse so you can forget your car for a few days. Local attractions include the Tree Top Adventure Course at Betws-y-Coed, Zip World at Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda, Zip World and Bounce Below at Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Blaenau Ffestiniog, the Plas y Brenin National Mountain Centre at Capel Curig, shops, leisure centre, swimming pool at Llanrwst and the seaside resort of Llandudno. No pets.

Public Transport:Trains at Betws-y-Coed (6 miles), Llandudno Junction (20 miles) and Llanrwst (10 miles); National Express bus station at Llandudno. Some local buses to Betws-y-Coed, but we advise bringing your own transport.

A beautiful Grade II listed stone farm building with exposed wooden beams illustrating its rich history. Ample room for social or dining make this hostel a great location for celebrating Christmas or the New Year. A private car park and 18 beds mean that large groups will have no trouble joining the festivities, and with a well equipped kitchen Christmas dinner should be a breeze. Only stepping out the door and you’re greeted by more walks than you can shake a stick at so Boxing day is covered, if you’re not too full of turkey that is. Hendre Isaf Basecamp also has New Years availability, it’d be difficult to find a more atmospheric place to spend the turn of 2019. Minimum of 2 nights from £380, don’t leave it too late to make a memorable Christmas or New Year.
