Nestled between mountains and lochs in the heart of the “Outdoor Capital of the UK”, 20 miles north of Fort William and 10 miles south of Loch Ness, the Great Glen Hostel is an ideal location whether you’re touring the Highlands, bagging Munros or paddling rivers and lochs, and it is only a few minutes’ walk from the Great Glen Way.
The hostel provides comfortable accommodation in twin, family and dormitory rooms. Hostel facilities include a self-catering kitchen, drying room, laundry, bike and canoe storage, free internet access, hot showers and a hostel store.

We are located 11 miles north of Spean Bridge and 3 miles south of Invergarry on the A82 in a small settlement called South Laggan. Citylink buses stop 100m north of the hostel on the A82. If you are walking the Great Glen Way, stay on the Way until you see signs directing you to the hostel.
Citylink bus services between Glasgow and the Isle of Skye, and between Fort William and Inverness will stop nearby. Nearest railway station: Spean Bridge. Nearest airport: Inverness.

The Hostel is surrounded by Munros in Glen Garry, Glen Dessary, Glen Spean and the Great Glen. The Garry, Spean, Roy and Moriston rivers are within easy reach and ideal for kayaka and canoes. The Great Glen Canoe Trail runs just behind the hostel. The Great Glen is an exellent location for exploring the Highlands, Glenfinnan Viaduct, the sands of Morar, Loch Ness, the Isle of Skye, and the castles of Urquhart and Eilean Donan are all an easy drive away
