Croft Bunkhouse is Skye’s original independent hostel, set on a 12 acre croft with sweeping views of sea and mountains. Its offers a range of accommodation, including a fully equipped bunkhouse, four self-contained bothies, and three heated wooden wigwams.
The Croft is perfectly located for outdoor adventures, the Cuillins are easily reached via Sligachan and Glenbrittle. A pier and slipway on Loch Harport are just 500m down the road, with the local pub 500m in the opposite direction.
The Bunkhouse sleeps up to 14 guests, with one twin room and a 12-bed dorm. The spacious dining room overlooks the crofts and sea, with seating for everyone to gather and eat together. There are two washrooms, a cosy lounge, and a fully equipped kitchen.
For smaller groups and families:
Bothy Beag – A self-contained unit sleeping up to four in bunkbeds, with shower room, fully equipped kitchen, and comfortable dining and living space.
The Cabin – Sleeps two, with a compact living area and en-suite toilet and basin. Showers and the main kitchen are in the bunkhouse. Enjoy sunset views over Macleod’s Tables and Portnalong Harbour.
The Bothy – A fully self-contained unit sleeping up to six, ideal for families or small groups.
The But & Ben – Just 200m towards Portnalong Harbour, this is a former 1920s shop where settlers from Harris and Lewis sold their tweed and knitwear. It offers a fully equipped kitchen/living area, shower room, bunkbed room sleeping 4, outdoor picnic table, and panoramic views towards Arnival and the Cuillins.
Wigwams – Built from sustainable Scottish spruce, each sleeps up to three adults (or a family). Insulated and heated, they include mattresses, seating, microwave, kettle, fridge, and table. Toilets and showers are nearby, with full access to bunkhouse facilities. Please bring your own sleeping bags.
Larger groups can book a number of units or the the entire site. Camping is only available as part of a group booking.
There is no WIFI but 4G mobile signal is available.
