Coinciding with Discover National Parks Fortnight, the activities aim to encourage more people to experience these very special places and learn more about the landscapes, habitats and heritage that can often be found on their doorstep.

Cote Ghyll Mill has capacity to sleep between 2 and 61 throughout the flexible accommodation and rooms. The Mill is surrounded by picturesque trails for walks and cycling, and features lots of fantastic on-site facilities.

Constellation Rubbing Trail – Danby Lodge National Park Centre and Sutton Bank National Park Centre
Explore the grounds and find the constellation rubbing plaques, use your brass rubbing crayon and discover the 10 different constellations. Drop-in, no booking required, please check visitor centre opening hours. £3 per person.

Cote Ghyll Mill, started life as a hostel in 1934 but closed again in 1940. After a gap of some 40 years it opened again as a youth hostel in 1980. In 2021 it was transferred into private ownership and runs as Osmotherly Youth Hostel under the enterprise scheme. In 2013 it joined our network of Independent Hostels.
