News & Offers from Chapel Gallery Bunkhouse
We welcome short notice bookings at Chapel Gallery Bunkhouse in Wensleydale
August 16th 2024
Chapel Gallery Bunkhouse is in a perfect location in Hawes, about 50 metres off the Pennine Way, and a 5 min stroll to the nearest pub. So if you want a roof over your head for the night, then get in contact – a phone call, knock at the door or a quick message to me. Comfy beds, free Wi-Fi, a brilliant drying room and good showers will leave you refreshed for the next day. We have a key safe, so no worries if you arrive late, or need to leave early.
Over the last couple of months we have had lots of last minute same day bookings (motor-bikers, 3 dogs (with 2 owners!), people breaking up a long journey, walkers and cyclists) – a knock at the door, a phone call or a quick message to me has meant people can dry off/warm up/cool down or just relax in comfort.
We have a key safe, so there is no need to worry about arriving late. We also have free Wi-Fi and a brilliant drying room. Towels are also available if you let me know.
We don’t charge differently for a single person, or late booking, and if we have availability we are more than happy to welcome you 😁.
There are lots of great places to eat in Hawes, both for breakfasts and evening meals, a bakery and a couple of well stocked shops if you need supplies.
If you like the sound of this – but have time to plan a stay – we also have plenty of availability over the next few months.
Plan a summer break in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales
June 17th 2024
Chapel Gallery Bunkhouse is well placed in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales, in stunning Upper Wensleydale. To cater for all we are next to the playpark and less than a 3 min walk to the nearest pub and shops! We are close to lots of well known Dales locations – but there are a whole host of lesser known dales, hills, walks, rides & swims that are on our doorstep……Mallerstang, Cotterdale, Lady Anne’s Highway, Pendragon Castle, Addleborough and Snaizeholme to name just a few
Not long til the schools break up – why not have a trip to Wensleydale all planned out?!! Being in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales we are perfectly placed to explore both the lesser known, and the more popular areas of the Yorkshire Dales. With 10 beds in 2 rooms, we are well suited to family holidays, groups of friends or just the solo traveller.
You may have heard of Ribblehead Viaduct, but have you walked under Arten Gill viaduct. Climbed the Yorkshire 3 peaks? But have you been up Wild Boar Fell (my personal favourite). Swum at Janets Foss? Have you been to Cotter Force? Visited Malham Tarn? Have you been to Semerwater? We can support with swimming locations, walks (I am a qualified Hill & Moorland Leader, so I can do guided walks if you want), off road or on-road bike rides (we have Stage 1 Cycles opposite us, who can support with bikes, routes and guiding), red squirrel viewing or just some stunning drives. Hawes is also the home of Wensleydale Cheese – so it would be rude not to give that a visit, and maybe try some cheese!!
