Live-in Duty Manager, Court Hill Centre, Wantage, OX12 9NE, 20+ hrs/week
The Court Hill Centre, situated just off the Ridgeway in Wantage, is seeking a live-in duty Manager to ensure the on-going smooth running of the busy café, hostel and camping facilities. The work is varied and the appointed person must be practical and flexible and able to work as part of the team to carry out a variety of tasks across the site including: housekeeping, cooking, cleaning, grass cutting, general maintenance and be on call for emergencies. Some office work as well as record keeping may be required.
Hours to be negotiated. Weekend working essential with a minimum of 20 hours per week. Accommodation provided in your own self contained flat. Previous experience of hospitality would be an advantage but we are seeking a ‘Jack of all trades’ who is willing to turn their hand to anything.
The Duty Manager should ideally have:
• Enthusiasm, good organisational skills, commitment
• Ability to work well within a team as well as on their own
• Good customer service and communication skills – written and verbal
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and Health & Safety
• Versatile and able to carry out a variety of different jobs.
Duties and Responsibilities
• To ensure that high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness and maintenance prevail at all times for guests and customers within the Centre and grounds.
• Serving and cooking in busy café area
• Outside tasks include mowing to keep the outside areas presentable and tidy across site.
• To ensure the safe keeping of all equipment and stock stored at the centre.
• To act as a key holder and be on call for emergencies.
