Where better to reunite the family this Christmas than a spacious boutique hostel? Llandudno is famed for its Victorian looks and homely feel, which is exactly what you can expect from this fabulous hostel. Spread over 9 rooms there’s space for all the extended family.
Getting the whole family together is always special, and what better time to do it than Christmas. Llandudno Hostel is well equipped for plenty of people, the hostel has 46 beds spread across 9 gorgeous rooms. The kitchen space is ample for cooking up the inevitable food coma inducing Christmas dinner. You’ll find all the utensils and cooking equipment you’d ever need; two big cookers with space for potatoes, stuffing, meat and all the trimmings. Edwards Butchers in Conwy comes highly recommended for ordering a top notch free range turkey for your feast. You’ll also be glad to know that the dining room is well suited to a jovial Christmas dinner atmosphere. There’s plenty of table space and the room can be rearranged as needed. Or, of course, you can always enquire about fully catered options to give the family cook the gift of a stress free meal. Moving to the lounge it could be said that it was built with festivities in mind. With a spectacular Christmas tree and a cosy atmosphere for present unwrapping, board games or a simple family movie night. The choice is yours…
The ever magical town of Llandudno makes a wonderful base for the festivities. You’ve got a wide range of activities for your family and friends. Indulging in the resort spirit of Llandudno, Conwy and surrounding areas maybe that means a walk along the beach, or afternoon tea at one of the pier side hotels. It’s easy to see where Lewis Carrol got his inspiration, and to spice up the usual post excitement Christmas walk there is a trail of Alice in Wonderland statues to follow throughout Llandudno. From Alice to the Cheshire Cat each is unique and worth a visit. The Cheshire cat so happens to lead up to the Great Orme which not only offers stellar views across the snow dusted wonderland but also is home to a super activity centre. Tobogganing? Snow tubing? It’s all there, great fun for the kids and a good opportunity for the adults to catch a break and enjoy a nice warm coffee.
Boxing Day brings the very unique Boxing Day dip where people plunge into the frigid water to raise money for charity, some even wear fancy dress! While you’re not obliged to go for a swim yourself it is a sight worth a look and to judge the best dressed of course. There are many other activities worth getting stuck into, one of the many plays, pantos and shows is always good fun for the family. But if that isn’t your thing, you’ll still be spoiled for choice in days out and about in beautiful North Wales. A walk over the Little Orme could reward you with a surprising colony of seals.
If you happen to be sticking round for the New Year you’ll be treated to some brilliant fireworks and an even more brilliant atmosphere in town. Just down the road is the equally extravagant display lighting up Conwy Castle. What a way to welcome in the New Year. Family, friends and fireworks, all the while staying in one of Wales’s most beautiful hostels. Book to avoid disappointment and make your Christmas and New Year a special one.
