The North Norfolk Coast belongs to the sky. It is filled with coastal wildlife, salt mashes and picaresque villages with ancient roots. There are stunning seascapes, seaside towns and not much evidence of the hurley burly of modern life. That is why Deepdale is such a useful find, unusual in rural North Norfolk, there is tourist information, shopping with great food available, camping and hostel accommodation all in the authentic relaxed village of Deepdale.

We were a group of 16 and we stayed in the Granary at Deepdale Rooms and Camping. It was great getting lost in the wildness on the doorstep all day without a worry about what we were having for dinner that night. Just a quick trip to the shop next door then relax over a cup of tea while the pizza warmed in the oven of our self catering accommodation.
The first day we set off for a walk from the hostel door. This gorgeous spot was a few minutes from the hostel and became a regular morning walk for the family in our group who had bought their dog with them.
The day finished in Wells-Next-The-Sea for a bit of retail therapy and fish and chips.
There are some stunning beaches on the North Norfolk Coast, wide stretches of flat sand interspersed with reed beds and little villages around the water channels. The beaches were great for beach cricket, and for excising the dog, although often this study little spaniel was excising us !
The next evening we took a boat trip to see the seals. It was amazing to get so close up. A must recommendation for anyone who comes to this coast. In fact a really good reason to come to North Norfolk on its own.
