For a change of scenery in Snowdonia
A long way up in the mountains, 900 feet above sea level is Treks Bunkhouse. Just outside Ffestiniog in the mountains of Snowdonia. You’re in for a change of scenery – in lots of ways.
The village of Blaenau Ffestiniog is predominantly welsh-speaking, so you’ll hear that musical language first hand. The bunkhouse is an old golf club house converted to a high and modern standard. The surroundings are wild. Beautiful but wild. I don’t know what the welsh word would be, but Yorkshire folk use the word ‘wuthering’.
Your change of scene might take you up by foot or two wheel on the great paths and tracks over the mountains or maybe the thoroughly exciting Coed y Brenin Mountain Bike Centre. It might take you out on a canoe along some of Wales’s renowned rivers. Or, for a more fantastical change in scenery, to the Italianate architectural eccentricities of Portmerion.
Whatever you choose, Treks is a great base for it.
