Treks Bunkhouse, 900 feet above sea level, is high in the mountains near the Welsh-speaking village of Blaenau Ffestiniog. It is ideal for people who enjoy the rugged beauty of Snowdonia and a short airy walk to the pub of an evening. A modern conversion of a golf club house, graded 4 star by VisitWales, Treks is set in a wild area on the outskirts of the village and provides year round accommodation for individuals and groups. There is a self-catering kitchen and five bedrooms sleeping between 1 and 6 people, ideal for groups, families or groups of families. Beds are fully made up with sheet and duvets and towels are available to hire for a small charge. The is a large lock up ideal for canoes and bikes. There are many tourist attractions available within a short drive: Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Bounce Below, Zip World Titan, Antur Stiniog, Ffestiniog Railway, Go Below Adventures, Coed y Brenin Mountain Bike Centre, Portmeirion Italian Village, Bala White Water Rafting and Harlech Castle.

Two thirds of a mile from the centre of Ffestiniog on the B4391 towards Bala. Look for a cattle grid and small lane on the right with catle gird.

Public Transport:

Express Motor’s Bus 35 from Dolgellau (4 times a day), bus 1B from Porthmadog (hourly). Trains from Llandudno Juction and Ffestiniog Railway narrow gauge trains from Porthmadog. Station/buses 20 mins’ walk from bunkhouse.

We are centrally located to a host of activities that north Wales has to offer from walking/hiking, mountain and road biking, golfing, beach days out, canoeing/kayaking, or just to enjoy the beauty of the Snowdonia national park.

Why not visit one of the castles local to the area or something more to get the blood pumping such as the white water rafting in Bala, Bounce Below or the Titan Zip World in Blaenau Ffestiniog. Try out the Ffestiniog railway as it winds it way down towards the port town of Porthmadog. There is so much to do in the area, visitors will find something to suit their own taste.

Treks bunkhouse is ideally suited to school outdoor activities. We are ideally situated in the heart of all that north wales has to offer from zip world, bounce below, many mountain bike trails, educational castles, fantastic walks from casual to maybe challenging yourself to even snowdonia itself.

The bunkhouse itself accommodates up to 16 over 5 rooms, with communal area, fully fitted kitchen, drying room, separate male/female shower room, outside storage garage, ample off road parking. Within 10mins walk to the village of Ffestiniog it is situated in a private location overlooking the vale of Ffestiniog.
