Starting at Buckie the Speyside Way is a cracker of a long-distance route. There’s a brilliant mix of stunning wilderness and civilisation in the form of the villages and towns that dot the path. Following the River Spey, the trail is a total of 65 miles (+15 Miles if you choose to include the Tomintoul spur) ending in Aviemore, with plans to further expand the trail down to Newtonmore in the works. Along the trail, you can expect to be gripped by breathtaking views of Scotland and its beautiful Cairngorms national park. There are clear markings throughout and the path is well maintained, making for an excellent walk. There are also several trails that connect if you wish to go further and take in more of the gorgeous scenery.
