Yealand Old School Eco Hostel near Arnside

So how does that affect your stay? Well, some of the hot water comes from solar, the building is well insulated and mostly double glazed, laundry is done in house and mostly line dried and we encourage you to sort your recyclables into the bins provided (and more!) We are currently overwelmed with apples and guests are greeted with homegrown organic apples from the orchard

Yealand Old School, has undergone major refurbishment and now boasts a brand new kitchen, en suite bathrooms for the 3 private rooms and new beds throughout.

What better a reason do you need to visit this former Quaker school in ‘1652 country’.  As well as the Quaker history there’s plenty of great walking and cycling in the local area.  The hostel is also often used by long distance cyclists on the LEJOG route and  NCN 6 which runs from London to the Lake District.  And if you are feeling less energetic the seaside town of Arnside is just a 15 mins drive past Gait Barrows National Nature Reserve.
