Ross-on-Wye Walking Festival offers a wonderful opportunity to explore some of the incredible countryside of South Herefordshire, offering dramatic gorges, rolling hillsides, spectacular views, meandering rivers, ancient forests and parkland. This year to mark the 250th anniversary of the tours down the Wye from Ross to Chepstow led by Rev William Gilpin there will be several walks with a ‘Gilpin’ theme. There will also be at least one bird-spotting walk and the popular steam train walk will run again. Plans are afoot for a silent walk, away from the noise and bustle allowing walkers to listen to the sounds of nature. All walks will be led by experts who will give and informative commentary along the way. It’s a recipe for a great weekend, in a great place, with great people.
