We’ve had some interesting weather recently at All Stretton Bunkhouse in Shropshire over the last week and it leaves you wondering about venturing in to the great outdoors
It went really cold for a while and you could skate on the ice on the top of Novers hill (the pool was only half a meter deep so no worries about falling through the ice. Then it snowed for a night and it was BRILLIANT snow – really sticky and great for making snow men (or monsters, in the case of my grandchildren). Then it rained – and the wind blew – and it rained some more. Only this week – the sun is going to come out.
SO – whether to weather the weather – we have a warm bunkhouse and a warmer drying room. We have a local pub with a fire and other pubs you can walk to with cosy fires. 1.5 miles away, Church Stretton has some ace food shops and cafes; a bigger and better Outdoor shop for the gear you forgot and independent shops for those tricky Christmas presents you are yet to get (or charity shops to quietly give away the ones you got that weren’t quite to your liking)
C’mon – remember ” ….. We’ll weather the weather whatever the weather, whether we like it or not”
