This is walking and cycling country however there are cities and places of interest within easy reach for those touring by car. Newcastle is one hours drive, Hexham, Bishop Auckland and Durham only forty mins drive. The Kilhope Lead Mining Museum is only half hours drive and Beamish Open Air Museum is three quarters of an hours away
