The South Pennines Walk and Ride Festival, 7th-22nd Sept 2018

South Pennines Walk and Ride Festival in Hebden Bridge

17days of celebration in the beautiful hills and valleys of the South Pennines. Join events for families, cyclists, horse riders and walkers.

The South Pennines Walk and Ride Festival, 7th – 22nd Sept 2019  is the perfect opportunity to explore the wild and wonderful South Pennines landscape around Hebden Bridge, its heather-covered moors, steep-sided valleys, canals, reservoirs and packhorse trails. Spanning the Yorkshire Lancashire border this area has a fascinating history, offering everything from Neolithic stone carvings to world-changing industrial heritage and many hidden gems. Over the centuries it has inspired artists and writers and those who visit and those who stay.

You may wish to march across the moorland on one of the strenuous all-day hikes or perhaps discover the geology of Widdop Moor just north of Hebden Bridge accompanied by readings of Ted Hughes’ poetry. Or maybe saddle up for the Bronte mountain bike challenge.   Whatever your pace or interests the South Pennines has it all.
