The perfect stop over when navigating The Great North Trail.

The Great North Trail is an exciting new off-road cycle trail which goes from the southern Peak District to the northern tip of Scotland. With over 180 miles of trail to explore, you may choose to do it all in one go or in smaller sections over weeks and months.

However you choose to navigate the Great North Trail, when travelling through the North Pennines, be sure to stop at Alston Youth Hostel. They are no strangers to weary trail travellers as they are also located on The Trans Euro Trail, Lands end to John O Groats, Issacs tea trail, C2C cycle route and The Pennine Way.

The hostel is run by keen outdoor enthusiasts who know just what you need after a long day in the hills; a hot shower, comfortable bed, a hearty breakfast, large, warm drying room and secure indoor bike storage for 23+ bikes.
