The annual Settle to Carlisle (Ride2Stride) Walking and Music Festival 30 April – 6 May 2019

Settle to Carlisle walkers

The ‘Ride2Stride‘ festival celebrates the landscapes and culture of the Ribble valley, comprising walks, talks and music sessions in pubs along the route of the Settle to Carlisle Railway. If you need accommodation Airton Barn is just off the beaten track and makes a great place to stay during the festival.

Running since 2012, the ‘Ride2Stride‘ festival has something for everybody.  All the free guided walks start from a station and finish at a station where the local pub will be buzzing with live music. The talks will enhance your knowledge of the local area. The four or five walks every day are graded  strenuous, moderate and easy so will suit all ages and abilities. What’s not to like?!  If you need accommodation Airton Barn is just off the beaten track and makes a great place to stay during the festival. With accommodation for up to 18,  Airton Barn is ideally suited for small groups or individuals looking for low cost accommodation. Groups can book sole use of either the top floor (sleeping up to 12) or the whole barn. Basic food supplies are available from the Friend in Residence and for something special, a food order can be pre-booked with the famous Town End Farm Shop in the village.
