We may not have beaches and the warm weather of the south but we do have so much to offer here in the Allen Valleys of south west Northumberland. Wide open spaces, amazing views across the north of England and into southern Scotland. A raw natural beauty awaits you in every direction, coupled with historic remains and wonderful wildlife.
Stay in a scheduled ancient monument, surrounded by open moorlands with a small river tumbling over rocks close by. The building was once the largest mine shop in the lead mining area of south Northumberland, now converted into our camping barn.
The area has open moorlands to wander over, secluded valleys to explore and even waterfalls that you can stand behind and watch the cascade descend. Enjoy the beauty and splendour of the many waterfalls in the area after some rain, pictured is Ashgill Force that is within walking distance of our camping barn.
With Hadrian’s Wall, Vindolanda, Housesteads and Epiacum Roman remains in the area as well as mine museums of our industrial heritage there is such a variety of things to do.
Visit our website for more information regarding activities in the area and to book your break with us. We look forward to seeing you.
