Summer in Suffolk

ENJOY A PEACEFUL RURAL HOLIDAY IN SUFFOLK … You don’t have to get on a plane to enjoy beautiful countryside, history, wildlife, archaeology, fresh air, sea, good food – and often the sun! Explore Suffolk from our lovely farm …

On our environmentally-friendly farm we’ve got culture, history, wildlife and sport!   Explore our Norman castle earthworks, ancient barns and even a modest little farm museum – the ancient Wool Towns of Suffolk are all around us and you can borrow our 20 adult road bikes and try out our Wool Town Bike Trail quiz – or hire a kayak and explore Constable Country along the River Stour.  We have a beautiful, hedged, mixed farm with ancient wildflower meadows to frolic in, woods to build dens in, ponds to check out for dragonflies and newts – and bring your binoculars to watch buzzards and blackcaps, herons and hobbies.  For families we have a farm activity pack to help you get the most out of your stay.  Bike to local Suffolk Wildlife Trust nature reserves nearby, or take the car to RSPB’s Minsmere and National Trust’s Sutton Hoo on the Suffolk coast.  If it’s wet, check out the numerous ‘antique and collectables’ shops or visit National Trust’s Ickworth House, Lavenham Guildhall, Long Melford Hall or, further afield Blickling Hall, Oxburgh Hall and others.  There are lots of good local pubs and restaurants locally.  And if you don’t want budge from the Old Brooder bunkhouse (sleeping 20, sole use), you can sun bathe, play ping-pong, badminton, croquet or barbecue in the garden – or paint the countryside beyond!
