Mendip Bunkhouse is a great base for this 25 mile route above the Somerset Levels.
The West Mendip Way is a 25 mile walk along the ridge of the Mendips from Wells, 6 miles from Mendip Bunkhouse, to Uphill, near Weston Super Mare. Although they are only small hills, the Mendips are set in the Somerset levels and this walk offers constant views stretching to the horizon in all directions. The walk starts at Wells famous for Wells Cathedral and passes through Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole.
