Seems peaceful, quiet, restful…don’t be fooled!
I love a bunkhouse with an intriguing name. “Shaggy Sheep” – on my computer it is filed merely as “Shaggy” making me think of 90’s Reggae artists or Scooby Doo’s dopey friend. Thankfully it is actually a snug bunkhouse in the Teifi valley well placed for the charming local area or within striking distance of the Ceredigion coast, Brecon Beacons or Pembrokeshire.
The Bunkhouse is an old – I want to say Georgian – commerce house in a typical rural Welsh village. It’s a tall, skinny terrace with loads of rooms and a communal kitchen and lounge. Seems peaceful, quiet, restful…don’t be fooled!
The real USP, as trendy marketing types say, is Shaggy Sheep’s access to adventurous (and sometimes a bit mad) activities. Browse their website and you’ll see that they encourage school groups, stag and hen groups, corporate team building – in fact anyone who has momentarily lost any sense of self-preservation – to stay and to join in with their capers. Archery, 4×4 driving, high rope courses: these are all pretty recognisable fare for an activity break. But… Archery tag! Bathtubbing! Land Yachting! Sumo?
Crikey! If you’re looking for a group activity break, I think Shaggy Sheep might have what you’re after…and then some more!
