Adventurous education in the Lake District. We love helping groups, from Year 1 to the U3A, explore this beautiful part of the Lake District National Park, and our spacious 88-bed Georgian house, overlooking Derwent Water, is an ideal base at any time of the year.
We love helping groups, from Year 1 to the U3A, explore this beautiful part of the Lake District National Park, and our spacious 88-bed Georgian house, overlooking Derwent Water, is an ideal base at any time of the year. The lake and mountains, and local places of interest such as Honister Slate Mine and Castlerigg Stone Circle, make this a fantastic natural outdoor classroom and playground. We even have a waterfall (and usually some red squirrels) in our grounds!
You are welcome to lead your own itinerary, or we can help you to design and deliver a bespoke itinerary. Whether you want to explore a cross-curricular theme (such as Vikings or Farming), study a particular subject (such as Geography or English Literature), or do adventurous activities only (such as kayaking and climbing), we hope our ideas, resources, and local partnerships will help you to create a fantastic residential programme.
