Rookhow Zoom Cafe during lockdown

Rookhow Bunkbarn have helping reduce social isolation in their local community with Zoom coffee afternoons and meditation sessions.

Rookhow’s in an isolated rural area of the Lake District and is closed at the moment but we wanted to keep in touch with the local community and help reduce social isolation. We’ve had some great chat, shared some funny videos, our favourite lockdown books and generally talked about how everyone’s coping.   We’ve also been supporting people who are unconfident with the internet to use Zoom.  One retired local person said, “I’ve really enjoyed joining you- it’s so social! I live on my own. It helps you to feel connected.”

We’ve also been offering a weekly Epilogue meditation session on Monday evenings for everyone and all ages.  These  Zoom Quaker socials which have been hilarious!   Find out more about it here.  or email Sue Nicholls, Development Manager on [email protected]
