Rookhow Bunkbarn, an excellent refuge for DofE wanderers

Campfire at Rookhow

After days of traipsing round the lake district, out in the elements its understandable to simply want a hot shower and cosy sleeping bag. Rookhow offers a place to get recoup before the next day of the expedition

Rookhow is ideal for D of E groups and has been used for preparation, planning and skill training before expeditions. With our own private 12 acres of woods it is also excellent for safe bivouac and camping practice while still having all our facillities safely on hand. A warm fire in the evening makes for a lovely way to unwind after the days trek… and prepare for the next.
