The Bunkhouse has been run as a social enterprise by members of the local community in Rhossili since 2007 and is co-located with Rhossili Village Hall. The accommodation, which is kept in immaculate condition, comprises (on the ground floor) foyer, kitchen, lounge/dining room and toilets/showers. Upstairs are seven bunk bedrooms. Beautiful sea views are a feature of most of these rooms.
Ground floor

The lounge/dining room is a spacious, flexible space with tables, dining chairs, comfy armchairs and sofa. Patio doors open on to a large patio with expansive sea views across the surrounding farmland. This patio, with its rustic tables and benches – more than enough to seat all of you – offers a private, secure place for alfresco dining and a perfect place to enjoy some of the most glorious sunsets on the planet. The patio overlooks a wide, grassed area, which is ideal for family games – or parents relaxing on the patio can watch their kids at play – perfect for everyone!

The kitchen is our pride and joy. Built to catering standards, it is spacious and well-equipped, with modern cookers, microwave oven, toasters, freezer and a very large fridge. There are also all the pans, crockery and cutlery you could possibly need. Work surfaces are stainless steel and walls are sealed, so all hygienic and easily cleaned and sanitised. The kitchen overlooks the patio and garden.

There are two shower rooms/toilets – one for females and one for males – each with three sinks and two showers. The females’ has three toilets and the males, two toilets and a urinal. A very high standard of cleanliness and maintenance is offered.

The seven bunk bedrooms are equipped with comfy, three-foot bunk beds and shelving. They come in different sizes, accommodating two, three or four people.   A shared toilet with sink near the bedrooms is handy for night time outings!

As well as the patio and grassed area we offer …

Safe storage space The Bunkhouse has been designed for people seeking a convenient base for their activity breaks whether for walking, swimming, surfing, cycling, climbing or fishing. With this in mind we provide a secure, key operated storage and drying space for bikes, boards and wetsuits. There is also a handy tap outside for washing down muddy bikes.

The Village Hall and Bunkhouse car park provides you with exclusive, off road parking during your stay.
More about the Bunkhouse and its surrounds

Located in Middleton, Rhossili, the Bunkhouse is within a 20 minute walk of Mewslade, Fall, and Rhossili Bays. Each of these spectacular beaches provides a different experience for you to enjoy – whether it’s exploring rock pools and caves, shipwrecks, sandy beaches or soaring cliffs. The cliff walks are outstanding and our famous landmark, the breath-taking Worm’s Head is accessible at low tide. Further afield the rest of Gower offers many more beautiful beaches and cliff walks. In fact, the Gower sections of the long distance Wales Coast path are well signed and worth exploring. So too is the Gower Way, which starts in Rhossili and takes you through the centre of Gower.

There are plenty of options for eating out in Rhossili, including a pub, a bistro and two cafes – all within 15 minutes’ walk of the Bunkhouse. Although there are no grocery shops in Rhossili itself, there are two good local stores nearby, on your route to Rhossili, where you can buy the full range of goods for your stay. These are in Knelston and Scurlage.

WiFi is available at the Bunkhouse. Ask for the passcode on arrival!

Finally you can be assured that Rhossili Bunkhouse provides excellent, clean, well maintained accommodation. In light of Covid-19, we sanitise our premises before each visit to provide optimum safety for our guests and adhere to the standards and protocols required by the ‘We’re Good to Go’ scheme.
