We’re located in the Whitbarrow Nature Reserve 8 miles from Newby Bridge and Lake Windermere and 10 miles from Kendal. The perfect cycling base to explore up into central Lakes along beautiful quiet country lanes without having to use a main road. On the mid point of The Bay Cycle Way 700 and on the W2W 70 you can navigate safe and interesting ride along the edge of Morecambe Bay with the option to jump on a train back to us. Mountain bikers are well served with a myriad of bridleways linking to forests and trails up to Grizedale, Chapel House, Witherslack Woods and Scout Scar.So whether on foot or wheels, armed with your OS Map Explorer OL7 The English Lakes, SE area, you’re guaranteed to find a route that suits you. If you prefer to explore by car there are many famous sites and activities within an 8 miles radius – Levens Hall, Holker Hall, Cartmel mediaeval town, Newby Bridge for the lake ferries and BackBarrow steam railway to mention but a few. Pony trekking available (1 mile) and we hire out electric bikes for those wanting an easy ride.
