Caban Gerlan (also known as Caban Cysgu) is located near to a treasure trove of walking, cycling and outdoor opportunities.
Gorgeous mountains such as Tryfan and Snowdon are close by and perfect for a big days hike. Just a fifteen minutes drive away from the hostel are some of the best mountain biking trails in Wales such as Sustrans Lôn Las cycle route. Rock-climbing is available close by at Idwal Slabs, Ogwen Valley and the Carneddau crags. The nearby River Ogwen is popular with canoeists. If surfing is more your cup of tea then the beaches of Anglesey are only a half hour drive away. Surfs up!
Or for a day off you could visit , Penrhyn Castle; a norman castle turned country house or the Greenwood family park with tunnels mazes and trails for kids. The hostel itself is within walking distance of the pubs and cafes in Bethesda.
