Opened by the YHA in 1937

One of the earlier YHA hostels that went into private ownership in 2013, Kings Hostel continues to be affiliated to YHA but is also fully independent. It joined our Independent Hostel Network in 2022. The main hostel building was originally 2 cottages and a chapel. Previous names were: Dolgelley (1937-58); Kings, Dolgellau (1959-69).
