If you’re looking for Halloween adventures this October half term, come and stay with us and then head for Scaresville (at magnificent Kentwell Hall nearby) where your family will cross over into a twilight world, where reality and imagination merge, with scares and dares, as you traverse the woods, buildings, and parkland.
And for those of you who don’t want dragons and ghosts, we can offer autumn leaves, fruits and fungi in the woods; fallow deer crunching on horse chestnuts and the barn owl hunting at twilight. We’ve got lots of ideas for fresh air activities and indoor challenges to keep a large, mixed-age group entertained without spending a fortune whilst staying in the Old Brooder Bunkhouse on our lovely farm – families can enjoy the big outdoors with our farm trail quizzes, scavenge hunts, tree-hugging and den-building in the woods (and check out the rest of our farm activity pack). Alternatively you can hone your badminton, table tennis and table football skills, or explore local villages on our road bikes – and with this offer, the tennis court too!
You will have sole use of this well-kitted out and luxury bunkhouse where you can cook and feast together in the kitchen and relax in the cosy sitting room with family games. Thrill-seekers can Go Ape with treetop adventures including a Sundowner adventure in October, Segway through forest or go karting. Nature-loving families can go bird- watching at RSPB Minsmere on the coast where large flocks of ducks gather, along with occasional birds of prey such as marsh and hen harriers, peregrines and short-eared owls, or visit one of Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s nature reserves and centres where they run activities for all the family.
A few minutes down the road your children can book a slot to do glass painting, ceramic painting, bear building, sand art and other crafts. And for those with really mixed age groups, there are local centres where some can roller-skate while the younger children clamber through tunnels and over obstacles in the soft play area.
